What is Cryo Lipo (Fat freeze)?

The fat-freezing procedure is the only FDA-cleared, * non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting—so you’ll look great from every angle. Our specialist cryo lipolysis treatment is also known as fat freezing and cryolipo. This treatment uses advanced cooling technology which results in localised fat death and removal from your body. Clinical trials have confirmed that fat cells are killed when placed in certain cold conditions. This is because Fat cells crystallise when exposed to cold at certain temperatures for certain periods. Fat freezing is targeted by breaking down only the fat cells whilst not impacting all the other tissue like the skin, muscle and nerve fibres in the area that is being frozen. This is because they freeze at a much lower temperature than fat cells so are not affected by the temperatures we use

What counts as a treatment areas?

Each cup we used is classed as an area so for example a pair of love handles would be classed as 2 areas, 1 for each love handle. Further examples are:

Upper or Lower Abdomen = 1 area
Upper & Lower Abdomen = 2 areas
Hips = 2 areas
Both Love Handles = 2 areas
Inner or outer Thighs = 2 areas
Back Rolls = 2 areas
Both Arms (Bingo wings) = 2 areas
Abdomen & Both Hips = 3 areas
Lower Abdomen & Love handles = 3 areas
Upper & Lower Abdomen & love handles = 4 areas

What will happen after the Cryolipolysis treatment?

One of the main benefits of Cryolipolysis fat freezing is there are extremely rarely any side effects at all. There is no recovery period, or downtime needed following a treatment. Your skin will feel cold and partially numb in the area treated, but will return quickly to its normal temperature, usually within an hour or so of the treatment.

Peoples skin is often red and feels a little sore immediately after the treatment and there may a small amount be localised bruising, but it is very rare to have extended redness or bruising afterwards, if there is any bruising its normally very light and gone after a week or so. You should be able to resume normal daily activities without discomfort immediately after the session. Liposuction requires many weeks of down time and discomfort, as this is not the case with cryolipo this is one of the main draws of having your fat frozen

How long until I see results of Cryolipo?

This depends on several variables such as the fat thickness in the area treated. Although 12 weeks is the estimated time to see the maximum result we have had clients report good results after 2-4 weeks. Studies and clinical trials up to 180 minutes have shown that 9 out of 10 people saw a reduction in the treated area when comparing measurements 12 weeks after they underwent the Cryolipolysis process.

What happens to the Fat after Cryolipolysis?

Following cryolipo fat cells die and are removed from the body via natural processes. Over the following weeks & months as the fat breakdown process occurs and fat is removed from the body completely. How quickly this happens & the extent of the result varies upon the individual and the conditions such as amount of fat and water intake in the days and weeks after treatment. We give full after care advice to ensure you can achieve the maximum benefits.

About the machine

We use state of the art technology which is crucial to the success of the cryolipo process. Our technician is highly trained and knowledgeable about cryolipo, having had the treatment herself and undertaken manufacturer training in the use of the machine and science behind Cryolipolysis.

With four different sized cryolipo heads available to suit different body shapes, areas and sizes our technology offers specifically calibrated heating and cooling which reduces treatment times and for certain body areas we can treat four areas at the same time, although this is not always possible. Our Cryolipolysis machine also includes phototherapy (light therapy) to enhance collagen production in the frozen area during your cryolipo session. We also utilise clinically proven aftercare products to help with the process to break down fat cells

We specialise in cryolipolysis and we will not treat someone who we don’t think is suitable and will not treat an area if we don’t think you will get good results. Happy clients are our number one goal not taking your money for the sake of it!

We are happy to advise you on which areas might respond best, which areas are not suitable for treatment on you and give comprehensive aftercare advice and are on hand after cryolipo should you have any queries.

Does it work ?

Yes 100%, I was a client myself before I decided to offer the treatments and it 100% worked for me. There are many trials, celebrity reviews, doctor reviews and TV features that support the effectiveness of fat freezing cryolipo.

It is accepted among doctors and surgeons as one of the most effective non-invasive (no surgery) fat loss solutions, capable of losses between 20-45% of fat cells after a single cryolipo session. It’s much more popular in the USA as it was first introduced there but is becoming more widely known about in Europe.

What does it feel like?

As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you typically feel intense cold. This soon dissipates. With some applicators, you’ll feel some pulling as suction is applied. The area generally goes numb within 5 to 10 minutes during treatment. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

After the treatment, you may feel some tingling as the area is massaged for 2 or 3 minutes. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities following their appointment.

Where does the fat go? Are the results permanent?

Once the treated fat cells are crystallised (frozen), they die and are naturally processed and eliminated from the body. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

Who is right for this procedure?

The fat freeze fat-reduction procedure is specially designed for those who have unwanted fat in targeted areas. Unlike weight-loss surgery (e.g., gastric bypass), the procedure is not a weight-loss solution for people who are obese. Good candidates for the procedure have noticeable bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of. Many people want a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

Are there any side effects?

During the procedure, you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity. Sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental area treatment. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks. Though rare, some additional side effects may occur. As with any medical procedure, ask your physician if the Fat freezing procedure is right for you.

Is there any downtime

The fat freeze procedure is completely non-surgical, which makes returning to normal activities afterwards a typically easy process. Often, patients even return to work after their fat freeze treatment is over.

How does it work

As the name suggests, the Fat freeze procedure can be a little chilly. Controlled cooling is delivered via an applicator to freeze the targeted fat. Though you may feel intense cold initially, this feeling usually subsides within 5 to 10 minutes as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching.

After you and your physician select the area(s) to be treated, the device is positioned on your body and controlled cooling is applied. A gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area. Vacuum applicators draw the tissue into the applicator cup. Applicators are secured to the treatment area. All applicators deliver controlled cooling to the targeted fat.

A cryolipo cup is placed on the selected area. The area is then cooled to a precise temperature for a pre-defined period which is between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the fat thickness measured and other conditions.

As the fat cells in that area are cooled the fat cells crystallise and no longer function in their usual way and breakdown using a process called Apoptosis via the body’s natural functions.

This process then results in the elimination of the fat cells without damage to the surrounding area, nerves or tissues, although it should be noted that there are some times some redness and bruising after a session.

How often can I have the same area done?

You can have the same areas done 8 weeks after, however if you are wanting a different area done you can have this done 4 weeks after.

Who cannot be treated?

You are not suitable candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, recently had stomach surgery, have certain conditions such as cold sensitivity you cannot be treated. Also, those taking certain medications may not be suitable for cryolipo. We will discuss your past and current medical history with and if you if you fall into any of the non-treatable categories we will not progress with the treatment.

Diabetics can still have the treatment done, however healing process may take much longer and results may take longer. Type 1 diabetics need to keep an eye on insulin levels for the next 4 weeks after the treatment.

Who is the ideal person to have Cryolpolysis?

We find the best candidates are those who want to reduce localised fat areas but who are not generally over weight. These tend to be areas that they find stubborn to diet and exercise that no matter how much exercise or dieting is done just will not reduce.

Although most people are suitable for cryolipo treatments it should not be an overall weight loss solution or way to skip a healthy lifestyle. Some people are not suitable for medical reasons and the ideal candidate is within or quite near their ideal body weight range (BMI). It has been proven people in this group will see the best results. We have also found that it can also be an excellent additional motivation aid.

Do I need to diet?

No diet plan is required. You should follow the simple aftercare advice leaflet given as part of the aftercare consultation process.  After care includes advice to increase your water intake to help flush fat out of your body, also to avoid or reduce caffeine & other toxins that can slow down your body’s natural processes.

Are the results permanent or will the fat come back?

Once destroyed fat cells leave the body they will not come back in that area assuming you maintain a healthy lifestyle and do not have excessive fat intake.
